First Milk have recently taken delivery of thirteen 32 tonne, 20,500 litre capacity stainless steel milk collection trucks which have been supplied by GE Equipment Services, TIP Tanker Services for leading milk distributor Lloyd Fraser (Dairy Services) Limited.
Manufactured by Crossland Tankers, the leading milk manufacturer in the UK, the new tankers will be used to collect and deliver milk to businesses throughout central England.
With highly efficient loading and un-loading times of twenty-one minutes, the new tankers have been introduced as part of a fleet modernisation program funded by GE replacing smaller, older units with new higher capacity tanks.
Keith Spencer of Lloyd Fraser adds ‘”GE were chosen because of their ability to provide an all round solution at a competitive price. Vehicle replacements of this type aren’t just about competitive funding but about having the technical credentials and backup to ensure that the equipment works properly from the outset and is fit for purpose. Having worked with GE for a number of years now we recognise them as one of the few specialists with the full set of services we require. The back up from First Milk is exceptional too and this order underlines their confidence in both ourselves and GE as key partners in this field”.
First Milk is the largest dairy farmer co-operative in the UK. Its member’s farms stretch from Central Scotland to the South of England, and from West Wales to East Anglia. The business handles approximately two billion litres of milk per annum from its 2800 dairy farmer members.
Serviced and operated by the logistics providers Lloyd Fraser (Dairy Services) Limited, the new tankers are on a seven-year operating lease provided by GE Equipment Services.
